As landfall occurs, the problem of 7-9 foot surge can't be overlooked. Wind and flooding will be problems along the storm's path, as will the threat of tornadoes continuing as the storm moves inland.

As always, you'll see the latest fron the NHC at the Get SET Hurricane Center. The season is just beginning and Alberto's early arrival (as Arlene did last year) is a reminder to get prepared NOW for what could be coming later.
